Selecting Web Site Hosting

The next step in starting your web site is getting your site hosted some where.

For shared hosting:
Web Hosting Inspector : this company lists the top 10 web hosts. Visit this link and select the company you feel most comfortable with.

For dedicated hosting:
My company www.xercel.com uses RackSpace - this provider is very reliabe and hosts huge corporations web sites on their servers. (You might be familiar with Miller, Nikon, Bluetooth)

Now you ask - which one do I want? If you are a small company with only a few pages on your web site and no complicated web applications - sharing space on any of the top competitors should suit your purpose. But if your web site is going to be more complex - such as an online store, or an online catalog - I'd consult with your web developer for their recommendation of a hosting company that will allow you the ability to install the web applications you are having developed.
